Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Panama Isabel de Saint Malo de Alvarado is on a working visit to Singapore from 23 to 25 October 2018. 

Two bilateral agreements were signed during Vice President Saint Malo’s visit to Singapore.  The first was the Confidential Memorandum of Understanding to formalise the expansion of air traffic rights under the Singapore-Panama Air-Services Agreement signed between Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Minister for Transport Khaw Boon Wan and Vice President Saint Malo during their meeting this morning.  Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan and Vice President Saint Malo also signed a Memorandum of Understanding of Policy Consultations this afternoon to institute a regular dialogue between the Foreign Ministries of Singapore and Panama. 

During the lunch hosted by Minister Balakrishnan for Vice President Saint Malo, they discussed ways to deepen and broaden the bilateral relationship, as well as Panama’s engagement of the region.  They agreed to leverage on the Panama-Singapore Free Trade Agreement for bilateral collaboration in sectors such as logistics and aviation.  Minister Balakrishnan and Vice President Saint Malo also exchanged views on key regional developments and multilateral issues.

Vice President Saint Malo also met with Minister for National Development and Second Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong and was hosted to a tour of ITE College Central today.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan signed the Memorandum of Understanding of Policy Consultations with Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Panama, Isabel de Saint Malo de Alvarado. Minister Balakrishnan also hosted lunch in honour of Vice President Saint Malo, 24 October 2018.
