Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong will visit Brunei Darussalam from 18 to 19 January 2023. This will be his first Official Visit to Brunei in his current capacity.

Deputy Prime Minister Wong will have audiences with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office of Brunei Darussalam, and will meet His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen. He will also meet Special Adviser to the Sultan and Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Pehin Dato Haji Awang Isa, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew, as well as the Singaporean community in Brunei.

Deputy Prime Minister Wong will be accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, and Ministry of Communications and Information.
