22nd Singapore-Kagoshima Conference, 16 January 2026
The 22nd Singapore-Kagoshima Conference (SKC) was held on 16 January 2026 in Singapore. Minister of State (MOS) for Foreign Affairs and for Trade and Industry Gan Siow Huang led the Singapore delegation, while the Kagoshima delegation was led by Governor of Kagoshima Prefecture His Excellency Shiota Koichi.
During the Conference, MOS Gan and Governor Shiota reaffirmed the longstanding and warm relations between Singapore and Kagoshima. The participants had fruitful discussions on cooperation in the fields of trade, tourism, arts and culture, and people-to-people exchange. Both sides also welcomed the 22nd SKC as part of the high-level exchanges between Singapore and Japan as both countries commemorate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2026.
Established in 1982, the SKC is a biennial event that aims to strengthen cooperation between Singapore and Kagoshima Prefecture.
