Ms Henrietta Fore, Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), is visiting Singapore from 21 to 24 August 2019, at the invitation of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
Ms Fore called on Prime Minister Lee today. During the meeting, Ms Fore shared the UNICEF’s priorities, and Prime Minister Lee and Ms Fore discussed the common vision to improve the lives of young people and develop opportunities for them.
Ms Fore also called on Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan. Discussions focussed on UNICEF’s operations in the region to assist children in gaining access to water, food, sanitation and education, and how Singapore and the UNICEF can work together to develop our children and youth.
Ms Fore will be hosted to lunch by Minister for Social and Family Development Desmond Lee tomorrow, and will deliver a Guest Lecture at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. Ms Fore will also visit the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) City Gallery and Singapore Waterhub.
