The Government of the Republic of Singapore has appointed:
(a) Mr Karl-Heinz Strauss as Singapore’s Honorary Consul in Vienna, with jurisdiction in the entirety of the Republic of Austria, and
(b) Mr Bálint Szécsényi as Singapore’s Honorary Consul in Budapest, with jurisdiction in the entirety of Hungary,
with the agreement of the governments of the Republicof Austria and Hungary respectively.
Mr Strauss, 62, is the CEO and Co-Owner of Porr AG, a leading construction group in Europe that was founded in 1869. He also founded Strauss & Partner Immobilien GmbH, a real estate development company based in Austria, Poland, and Romania. Mr Strauss’ CV can be viewed here [KARL-HEINZ STRAUSS.pdf [PDF, 100 KB]].
Mr Szécsényi, 48, is the CEO of Equilor Investment Ltd and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Equilor Asset Management Ltd. He is also Member of the Board of Gedeon Richter Plc, and Member of the Supervisory Board of Globe Trade Centre SA based in Poland. As Honorary Consuls, Mr Strauss and Mr Szécsényi will perform representational duties and notarial functions, as well as extend consular assistance to Singaporeans in Austria and Hungary respectively.
