Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan had a telephone call with Republic of Korea (ROK) Foreign Minister Chung Eui-yong on 13 April 2021.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan had a telephone call with Republic of Korea (ROK) Foreign Minister Chung Eui-yong on 13 April 2021.

Minister Balakrishnan congratulated Minister Chung on his appointment. Both Ministers reaffirmed the close and longstanding relations between Singapore and the ROK and had a wide-ranging discussion on regional and international developments.  The Ministers acknowledged the good progress in bilateral cooperation despite the COVID-19 pandemic and discussed ways to facilitate the resumption of cross-border travel. Minister Balakrishnan also welcomed the ROK’s ongoing efforts to deepen its engagement of ASEAN.
