In response to media queries, the MFA Spokesperson said:
“On 2 July 2020, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan received a phone call from Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investments Luhut Pandjaitan conveying his well wishes, while the latter was on a visit to Batam and Bintan. Both Ministers agreed on the importance of keeping up positive bilateral cooperation even amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The call did not go into any specific discussions on tourism exchanges and cooperation. Singapore is gradually re-opening our borders in a progressive and calibrated manner, while ensuring the health and safety of Singaporeans and our international visitors. Presently, Singaporeans are still advised to defer all travel abroad.”
