Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will attend the 34th ASEAN Summit in Bangkok, Thailand, from 22 to 23 June 2019.
This is the first of two meetings among ASEAN Leaders that Thailand will host as ASEAN Chair in 2019. ASEAN Leaders will meet to discuss ways to strengthen ASEAN Centrality and Unity, and on how to take ASEAN forward. They will also exchange views on ASEAN’s external relations, and discuss regional and international issues.
PM will be accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan and Minister for Trade and Industry Chan Chun Sing, as well as senior officials from both Ministries. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Heng Swee Keat will be the Acting Prime Minister in PM’s absence.
