State Visit by President Halimah Yacob to the State of Kuwait from 3 to 4 November 2019

President Halimah Yacob, who is in Kuwait on a State Visit, was received by Amir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah at the Bayan Palace this morning. Following the ceremonial welcome, the two leaders had a bilateral meeting where they reaffirmed the warm and longstanding friendship between Singapore and Kuwait. Both leaders also exchanged views on regional and global developments. After the meeting, Amir Sheikh Sabah hosted a State Lunch in honour of President Halimah and Mr Mohamed Abdullah Alhabshee.

Earlier in the day, President Halimah Yacob received calls by Speaker of the National Assembly Marzouq Ali Al Ghanim and Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al Mubarak Al Hamad Al Sabah. During these meetings, both sides reviewed bilateral cooperation in various fields, and welcomed further cooperation in areas including Information Technology, and the environment.
