Visit by United States Congressional Delegation Led by Representative Patrick McHenry (R-North Carolina), 24 to 26 April 2024

A United States Congressional delegation is visiting Singapore from 24 to 26 April 2024. The delegation is led by Chair of the House Committee on Financial Services Representative Patrick McHenry (R-North Carolina) and comprises Chair of the Committee on House Administration Representative Bryan Steil (R-Wisconsin) as well as Representatives Erin Houchin (R-Indiana), Scott Fitzgerald (R-Wisconsin), Mike Flood (R-Nebraska), Wiley Nickel (D-North Carolina), and Ritchie Torres (D-New York).
 
 
The Congressional delegation had separate calls on Prime Minister (PM) Lee Hsien Loong and Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong. During these meetings, both sides reaffirmed the long-standing, robust, and multi-faceted relationship between Singapore and the United States including deep financial sector ties. PM and DPM Wong welcomed the US’ continued engagement of Southeast Asia across the economic, diplomatic, military, and security spheres. They also discussed regional and international developments.
 
 
The Congressional delegation was also hosted to tea by Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen.
