Visit of Her Excellency Sara Zimmerman Duterte, Vice President and Secretary of Education of the Republic of the Philippines, 13 to 14 June 2023

Vice President and Secretary of Education of the Republic of the Philippines Sara Zimmerman Duterte is making a working visit to Singapore from 13 to 14 June 2023. This is Vice President Duterte’s first working visit to Singapore. The frequent exchanges of visits between Singapore and Philippine leaders underscore the longstanding and multi-faceted friendship between both countries.

Vice President Duterte met Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan on 13 June 2023. They discussed the progress made in advancing the strong bilateral relationship between both countries and the excellent prospects for the economic growth of the Philippines, underpinned by a young and well educated population. They also discussed regional developments.

On 14 June 2023, Vice President Duterte will call on President Halimah Yacob, as well as meet Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Foreign Affairs and Second Minister for Education Dr Mohamad Maliki Osman. Vice President Duterte will also visit the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation Regional Language Centre.
