President of the Republic of Rwanda His Excellency Paul Kagame called on President Halimah Yacob and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana today. President Kagame is in Singapore on a Working Visit.
President Halimah and President Kagame reaffirmed the friendly and warm relations between Singapore and Rwanda as fellow small states. Both sides discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest. They also had discussions on global developments.
Prime Minister Lee and President Kagame discussed Prime Minister Lee’s successful visit to Rwanda in June 2022 in conjunction with the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. Both sides had fruitful discussions on bilateral cooperation, including education and capacity building. They also discussed both countries’ close cooperation at multilateral fora.
Earlier today, President Kagame also delivered the Majulah Lecture at the Nanyang Technological University.
