Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan to Attend the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York Followed by a Working Visit to Washington D.C.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan will attend the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) from 21 to 25 September 2021.

 

  Minister Balakrishnan will deliver Singapore’s statement at the General Debate of the UNGA. He will participate in the Meeting of the Alliance for Multilateralism (AfM) and the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS) Leaders’ Meeting, and have a series of bilateral meetings with his counterparts.

 

He will host the 14th Global Governance Group (3G) Ministerial Meeting, and an informal Roundtable Discussion on “Closing the Digital Divide: From the Roadmap to the Common Agenda” in our capacity as co-Chair of the Group of Friends on Digital Technologies. He will also meet US interlocutors based in New York.

 

Minister Balakrishnan will proceed from New York to Washington D.C. where he will make a working visit from 26 to 29 September 2021. He will meet senior officials from the Biden Administration and Members of Congress.
