The following foreign Heads of Mission presented their credentials to President Halimah Yacob in separate ceremonies at the Istana today:

JAMAL ABDULLA AL SUWAIDI
AMBASSADOR TO SINGAPORE
UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

Prior to his accreditation as Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the Republic of Singapore, Ambassador  Jamal Abdulla Al Suwaidi served as the Deputy Manager in the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE since 2019 and as the Head of the Political Content & Media Section at the Office of the Minister from 2015 to 2019. 

Before joining the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in 2013, Ambassador Al Suwaidi worked in the maritime and telecommunications sectors in the UAE.

Ambassador Al Suwaidi holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Sharjah. He is married and has two daughters.

DANIEL ANTÓNIO ROSA
AMBASSADOR TO SINGAPORE
REPUBLIC OF ANGOLA

His Excellency Daniel António Rosa is a career diplomat.

Prior to his accreditation to Singapore, Ambassador Rosa was Angola’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Republic of Senegal, and the Republic of the Gambia from 2015 to 2020. He was also concurrently the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Permanent Representative of Angola to the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP).

From 2011 to 2015, Ambassador Rosa was the Director of the Directorate of the America, Oceania, and the UN at the Angolan Ministry of External Relations.

Ambassador Rosa’s previous overseas postings include the Angolan Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York (2006-11) and the Angolan Embassies to France (1997-2006), Côte dˈIvoire (1994-1997), Russia (1989-1994), and Portugal (1980-1983). During his stint at the Angolan Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York, Ambassador Rosa coordinated Angola’s involvement in the United Nations General Assembly First Committee and the United Nations General Assembly Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations.

Ambassador Rosa has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the Escuela Superior de Partido Comunista de Cuba, “Nico López”, Cuba. He is married.
