The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is pleased to announce the launch of a Residence Track between Singapore and Japan.
Singapore and Japan have been in discussions since July 2020 on the Residence Track. This is in addition to the Business Track (or Reciprocal Green Lane), which was launched on 18 September 2020, that facilitates short-term essential business and official travel between Singapore and Japan. The Residence Track will provide for the movement of business executives and business professionals who are work pass holders, with the necessary public health safeguards in place.
Interested applicants may apply for the Residence Track from 30 September 2020 onwards. Further details about the Residence Track, such as the eligibility criteria and other requirements, health protocols and application process, will be made available on the Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs website (https://www.mofa.go.jp/ca/cp/page22e_000925.html) (for entry into Japan) and the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs website (https://www.mfa.gov.sg/Countries-Regions/J/Japan/Travel-Page) (for entry into Singapore) before 30 September.
