20th Singapore-Kagoshima Conference, 16 January 2020

The 20th Singapore-Kagoshima Conference (SKC) was held on 16 January 2020 in Singapore. Minister of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Social and Family Development Sam Tan led the Singapore delegation while the Kagoshima delegation was led by Governor of Kagoshima Prefecture His Excellency Mitazono Satoshi.

During the Conference, MOS Tan and Governor Mitazono reaffirmed the warm and longstanding ties between Singapore and Kagoshima on the milestone occasion of the 20th SKC. The participants had good discussions on bilateral cooperation across diverse fields, including trade, tourism, youth and cultural exchanges. Both sides also agreed to further explore ways to deepen economic and people-to-people exchanges between Singapore and Kagoshima.

Established in 1982, the SKC aims to promote cooperation between Singapore and Kagoshima Prefecture. It is the longest-running forum of its kind that Singapore has with a Japanese prefecture.
