Valedictory letter from Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to outgoing Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev

19 January 2020

Dear Excellency,

Please accept my best wishes as you step down as Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, and take up your new appointment as Deputy Chairman of the Security Council.

Relations between Singapore and Russia grew steadily under your leadership. Much has been achieved through the annual High-Level Singapore-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission over the past decade. We have made significant progress in expanding our collaboration to include new areas  such as innovation and the digital economy. In particular, a major milestone was the signing of the Eurasian Economic Union-Singapore Free Trade Agreement in October 2019.

I wish you continued good health and every success in your new appointment.

Yours sincerely,

LEE HSIEN LOONG

His Excellency Dmitry Medvedev

Congratulatory letter from Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin

19 January 2020

Dear Prime Minister Mishustin,

On behalf of the Government of Singapore, I congratulate you on your appointment as Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.

Russia-Singapore relations are strong and on an upward trajectory. Since the State Visit of President Vladimir Putin to Singapore in 2018, we have expanded our economic relations through the Eurasian Economic Union-Singapore Free Trade Agreement. The annual High-Level Singapore-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission remains an important institutional pillar to consolidate our bilateral ties and pursue new areas of cooperation, including in innovation and the digital economy.

I look forward to working with you to further strengthen our relationship, and wish you success in your appointment.

Yours sincerely,

LEE HSIEN LOONG

His Excellency Mikhail Mishustin
