Visit by Indonesian Regional Leaders to Singapore for the Inaugural RISING Fellowship, 18 to 21 November 2019

Regional leaders from the Republic of Indonesia will participate in the inaugural RISING Fellowship in Singapore from 18 to 21 November 2019. The RISING Fellowship is organised by the Civil Service College (CSC), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Temasek Foundation, and Indonesia’s National Institute of Public Administration. The theme for the Fellowship is “Industry 4.0 Transformation and Investment Promotion”.

Over the next few days, the delegation will meet Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for National Development and Second Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong, and Minister for Trade and Industry Chan Chun Sing, as well as senior government officials. They will attend briefings on enterprise and innovation, smart cities development, and service delivery. They will also observe a Meet-the-People Session and make site visits to the URA Centre and Marina Bay Cruise Centre. The Indonesian RISING Fellowship leaders bring with them a rich and diverse set of perspectives that will engender a fruitful and productive exchange of ideas between both sides.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Indonesian President Joko Widodo announced the RISING Fellowship at the Singapore-Indonesia Leaders’ Retreat last year. The Fellowship seeks to deepen ties between Singapore and Indonesia’s regional leaders through the sharing of experiences and exchange of best practices. The list of participants is attached.
