A bipartisan United States Congressional delegation led by Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations Congressman Ami Bera (D-California) called on Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 30 September 2019. The delegation comprises Congressman Tom Graves (R-Georgia), Congressman Scott Peters (D-California), Congresswoman Kathleen Rice (D-New York), and Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy (D-Florida).
 
 
During the call, Minister Balakrishnan and the Congressional delegation affirmed the multifaceted and longstanding Singapore-United States relationship, which is anchored by strong institutional linkages. The Members of Congress expressed their appreciation for Singapore’s longstanding support for the United States’ engagement of the region, including via the renewal of the 1990 Memorandum of Understanding Regarding United States’ Use of Facilities in Singapore. Both sides also exchanged views on recent regional and international developments.
 
 
The Congressional delegation is visiting Singapore from 29 to 30 September 2019.
