Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean is on a working visit to Jakarta, Indonesia.
Senior Minister Teo called on Vice-President-Elect Ma’ruf Amin this morning. They reaffirmed the strong bilateral relations between Singapore and Indonesia, which is underpinned by close people-to-people ties. Senior Minister Teo and Bapak Ma’ruf also had a good discussion on combatting radicalisation and extremism, and agreed on the importance of maintaining religious harmony and cohesion in our societies.
Senior Minister Teo also met Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Pandjaitan. They had productive discussions on preparations for the next Singapore-Indonesia Leaders’ Retreat which will be held in Singapore next month. They also reviewed the progress on bilateral cooperation between Singapore and Indonesia, and discussed ways to deepen and broaden the cooperation for mutual benefit.
Senior Minister Teo returns to Singapore today.
