Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Heng Swee Keat hosted Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee Chen Min’er to dinner.
Deputy Prime Minister Heng and Secretary Chen reaffirmed the longstanding and good relations between Singapore and China, and discussed the deepening cooperation between both countries across a wide range of areas, including the Belt and Road Initiative.
They welcomed the good progress on the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity-New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (CCI-ILSTC), and discussed ways to deepen collaboration under the CCI’s four priority sectors, namely financial services; aviation; transport and logistics; and information and communications technology. Secretary Chen updated Deputy Prime Minister Heng on the latest developments in Chongqing and shared his future plans for Chongqing’s development.
Deputy Prime Minister Heng and Secretary Chen looked forward to strengthening cooperation between Singapore and Chongqing, and between our two countries.
