Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee Chen Min’er will visit Singapore from 10 to 13 September 2019 at the invitation of Minister (Trade and Industry) Chan Chun Sing. This will be Secretary Chen’s first visit to Singapore in his current capacity.
During his visit, Secretary Chen will call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat, Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean and Minister Chan will host separate meals for Secretary Chen. Chen will also attend a Meet-the-People session hosted by Minister (Manpower) and Second Minister (Home Affairs) Josephine Teo.
Minister Chan and Secretary Chen will speak at the Singapore-China (Chongqing) Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum on 11 September 2019. At the Forum, they will also witness the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding between Singapore and Chongqing agencies and companies that will deepen bilateral cooperation. In addition, Secretary Chen and his delegation will visit Changi Airport, PSA International, Singapore Exchange Limited and the National University of Singapore.
