Courtesy Call on President Halimah Yacob by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, The Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, 9 Aug 2019

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, paid a courtesy call on President Halimah Yacob today. The Sultan of Brunei is in Singapore to attend Singapore’s Bicentennial National Day Parade and celebrations, at the invitation of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

 

2 During the meeting, President Halimah and His Majesty reaffirmed the close ties and special friendship between Singapore and Brunei, underpinned by strong historical bonds and frequent high-level exchanges. They welcomed the robust cooperation across various sectors, including defence and finance, and agreed to continue to build on the momentum of exchanges and explore new avenues of bilateral cooperation.
