MFA Press Statement: Visit by His Excellency Mr Chung Sye-kyun Speaker of the 20th National Assembly of The Republic of Korea, 19 to 21 March 2017

    His Excellency Mr Chung Sye-kyun, Speaker of the 20th National Assembly of the Republic of Korea (ROK), called on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and met Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong today.  During the meetings, they reaffirmed the long-standing and warm relations between Singapore and the ROK.  They also discussed areas in which both countries could further strengthen bilateral cooperation, and exchanged views on regional developments such as the situation on the Korean Peninsula.

    Mr Chung, accompanied by Members of the National Assembly, is visiting Singapore from 19 to 21 March 2017 at the invitation of Speaker of Parliament Halimah Yacob.  Earlier today, Mr Chung met and was hosted to lunch by Speaker Halimah, who was joined by members of the Singapore-ROK Parliamentary Friendship Group.
