PRC Vice President Li Yuanchao met with Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam at the Istana on 9 August 2015. Vice President Li conveyed President Xi Jinping’s congratulations on the 50th anniversary of Singapore’s independence. Both leaders noted that this year also marked the 25th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Singapore and China, and reaffirmed the strong bilateral relationship between Singapore and China.
