Joint Press Statement: Technical Discussions on Maritime Boundaries between the Republic of Indonesia and the Republic of Singapore in the Eastern part of the Strait of Singapore, Tenth Round, 18 to 19 August 2014, Medan, Indonesia

1. The delegations of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the Republic of Singapore held the Tenth Round of Technical Discussions on Maritime Boundaries in the Eastern Part of the Strait of Singapore in Medan, Indonesia on 18 – 19 August 2014, as a follow-up to the Ninth Round of Technical Discussions held in Singapore on 9 – 10 December 2013.

2. The Indonesian delegation was led by Mr. Octavino Alimudin, Director for Political, Security, and Territorial Treaties, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Singapore delegation was led by Mr. Pang Khang Chau, Director-General, International Affairs Division, Attorney-General’s Chambers.

3. At the Tenth Round of Technical Discussions, the delegations made good progress on the consolidated text of the Treaty relating to the Delimitation of the Territorial Seas of the Two Countries in the Eastern Part of the Strait of Singapore and its Annexures.

4. Both Heads of Delegation acknowledged that the progress reached at the Discussions would contribute to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
