MFA Press Statement: President Tony Tan Keng Yam's State Visit to the Portuguese Republic and Official Visit to the Swiss Confederation (4 to 10 May 2014)

 

        President Tony Tan Keng Yam will make a State Visit to the Portuguese Republic from 4 to 6 May 2014 and an Official Visit to the Swiss Confederation from 6 to 10 May 2014. 

 

        In Portugal, President Tan will meet President Cavaco Silva, Prime Minister Pedro Passos Coelho and President of the Assembly of the Republic Maria da Assunção Esteves.

 

        In Switzerland, President Tan will meet President and Federal Councillor for Foreign Affairs Didier Burkhalter.  President Tan will also deliver a speech to the St Gallen Symposium Circle of Benefactors, and attend a seminar organised by Institute of Policy Studies and Avenir Suisse.  In addition, President Tan will visit Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH), École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), the Nestlé Research Centre and the Olympic Museum in Lausanne.

 

        President Tan will be accompanied by Mrs Mary Tan during the State Visit to the Portuguese Republic from 4 to 6 May 2014.   Minister, Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Trade and Industry and Second Minister for Home Affairs Mr S Iswaran; Minister of State for National Development and Minister of State for Defence Dr Mohamad Maliki bin Osman; and Members of Parliament Ms Jessica Tan and Mr Patrick Tay will be accompanying President Tan during the State Visit to the Portuguese Republic from 4 to 6 May 2014 and the Official Visit to the Swiss Confederation from 6 to 10 May 2014.
