Dear Prime Minister Thongsing,

I was shocked to learn of the tragic plane crash in Xieng Khouang province this morning.  It is unfortunate that a trip to celebrate a Lao People’s Army anniversary ended up taking the lives of so many Lao leaders and officials.

On behalf of the Government and people of Singapore, I offer our deepest condolences to the families of the victims.  Please let us know if there is anything that Singapore can help you with.  Our thoughts are with you and the people of Laos during this time of sorrow.

Yours sincerely,

LEE HSIEN LOONG

His Excellency Thongsing Thammavong
