Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Foreign Affairs and Second Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Ms Grace Fu visited the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Singapore this afternoon to sign the Condolence Book for the victims of the coal mine accident in Turkey.  She wrote:

“On behalf of the President, Government and people of Singapore, I offer my deepest condolence to the people of the Republic of Turkey over the tragic deaths as a result of the coal mine accident in the Soma district in Manisa, Turkey. 

Our thoughts are with the people of Turkey during this difficult period.

We are confident that the Turkish people will overcome this crisis with fortitude and resilience.”
