When asked about these reports, the MFA Spokesman said:
“Indonesian Deputy Attorney-General Darmono’s allegation that Joko Soegiarto Tjandra, an Indonesian fugitive, is in Singapore is without substance.
According to our immigration records, Mr Tjandra is not in Singapore.
Neither has the Singapore Government received any request for assistance from the Indonesian Attorney-General’s Office relating to Mr Tjandra’s case.
It would be preferable if Mr Darmono had fully apprised himself of the facts before making baseless claims.”
