Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong visited Jakarta, Indonesia on 12 June 2011 to attend the World Economic Forum
(WEF) on East Asia.
Together with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, PM participated in the Forum's Special Commemorative Opening Ceremony, which discussed the major trends and challenges shaping the global economy and their implications for Asia, such as innovation, the need to rebalance the global economy, the importance of achieving inclusive growth and engaging youth through the Internet and social media.
PM also met with President Yudhoyono and exchanged views on bilateral issues, in particular the need to step up economic cooperation. They reaffirmed the importance of the long-standing and warm relationship between the two countries.
