His Excellency Le Hoang Quan, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, who is visiting Singapore to attend the World Cities Summit, made a courtesy call on Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong today. During the call, both sides affirmed the warm bilateral relations between Singapore and Vietnam, as well as the strong ties between Singapore and Ho Chi Minh City. Senior Minister Goh and Chairman Quan also exchanged views on the economic growth strategies for Vietnam as well as the sustainable development of Ho Chi Minh City.


Chairman Quan also met with Minister for National Development Mah Bow Tan and Minister for Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang earlier today. He will meet Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Dr Yaacob Ibrahim tomorrow.
