PRC Guangxi Party Secretary Guo Shengkun called on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana on 19 January 2010. The visit is at the invitation of the Minister for Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang.

During the call, both leaders exchanged views on the cooperation on human resource development and Guangxi's economic development. Both sides also reaffirmed our close bilateral economic cooperation and discussed the increased economic collaboration between China and ASEAN following the implementation of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement. PM Lee expressed support for Singapore's participation in the 7th China-ASEAN Exposition which would be held in Nanning from 20-24 October 2010.
