His Excellency Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Industry of the State of Qatar, called on Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong at the Istana this afternoon. The two leaders exchanged views on bilateral relations between Qatar and Singapore, opportunities for collaboration in the energy sector, as well as the economic opportunities open to both countries in Asia and the Middle East.
Deputy Prime Minister Al-Attiyah is visiting Singapore from 10 to 12 November 2009 to sign a joint venture agreement with Shell in his capacity as the Chairman of Qatar Petroleum International (QPI). He last met Senior Minister Goh during his official visit to Singapore in November 2008.
