Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo will make his first official visit to the Russian Federation from 22 - 24 March 2009. Thereafter, he will proceed on a working visit to the United Kingdom from 24 - 28 March 2009.
In Moscow, Minister Yeo will call on his Russian counterpart, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov and will have meetings with prominent parliamentarians and businessmen. He will also call on the new Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church. In London, Minister Yeo will meet with UK political leaders including Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, The Rt Hon David Miliband and Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, The Rt Hon Andy Burnham. In Cambridge, Minister Yeo will be giving a speech as part of the Cambridge Distinguished Lecture Series in conjunction with the university's 800th anniversary.
Minister Yeo will be accompanied by Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials.
