During the call on PM, PM commended Mr Matsuura for the progress that UNESCO had made under Mr Matsuura's leadership and expressed Singapore's support for UNESCO. Mr Matsuura expressed his appreciation for Singapore's decision to rejoin UNESCO in 2007 and briefed PM on UNESCO's work and priorities, especially in the field of education. During the call on SM, Mr Matsuura briefed SM on UNESCO's role in introducing best practices in education to developing countries. SM shared with Mr Matsuura Singapore's policies and said that Singapore would be pleased to share our experience with other developing countries. |
