Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo met with Mr Luis Alberto Moreno, President of the Inter-American Development Bank on 21 November 2008. During the meeting, they discussed a broad range of issues including the global financial crisis and closer cooperation between Singapore and the Inter-American Development Bank on projects in the Latin American region.
Earlier that day, Minister Yeo participated in a forum at the APEC CEO Summit on "What are the implications of the current Global Financial Turmoil? Where is the Global Economy heading? What is the economic outlook for 2009?" Minister Yeo noted that after the global financial crisis was over, Asia would play a greater role in a new multi-polar world.
Minister Yeo joins Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong who will attend the 16th APEC Economic Leader's Meeting from 22 - 23 November 2008.
