In response to media queries on the visa requirements for Singaporeans travelling to China, the MFA Spokesman said:

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and our Embassy in Beijing have been informed by the Chinese authorities that with effect from 19 September 2008, China will reinstate the visa-free facility for Singapore ordinary passport holders intending to travel to China for a period of 15 days or less."
