MFA Press Statement: Visit Of Senior Minister Of State For Foreign Affairs Dr Balaji Sadasivan to Dubai, 20 - 22 September 2008

Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr Balaji Sadasivan will visit Dubai from 20 to 22 September 2008. SMS Balaji is on a roadshow to Dubai to promote the inaugural Global Indian Diaspora conference (or Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) conference) in Singapore, from 10 to 11 October 2008 at Suntec City Convention Centre. SMS Balaji had visited New Zealand, Fiji, and Australia over the week. In all three places, he had met prominent members of the business community who will participate in the event. During his trip to Fiji, SMS Balaji also met the Prime Minister of Fiji Commodore Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama.

PBD Singapore (www.pbdsingapore.com.sg) is a business conference. The conference is a gathering of leading Indian business leaders in the Asia-Pacific region as well as those with interest in the Indian market to explore new business oppotunities. The conference will also chart business trends for India in the next 25 years, tackle global issues such as climate change and energy security and track developments in infrastructure, tourism and hospitality, science and technology, finance and banking and youth and education.
