MFA Press Statement: Lunch hosted by Minister for Foreign Affairs, George Yeo for Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Guangdong Provincial Committee, Wang Yang

Minister for Foreign Affairs, George Yeo hosted Guangdong Party Secretary Wang Yang to lunch today. During the lunch, Minister Yeo shared with Party Secretary Wang Singapore's history and developmental experiences. Recognising similarities in culture and history, both also exchanged views on how Singapore and Guangdong could deepen mutual engagement.

Wang met Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong and Deputy Prime Minister Wong Kan Seng on 15 September 2008. Apart from his lunch with Minister Yeo, Wang had meetings with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew today. Party Secretary Wang is visiting Singapore on DPM Wong's invitation.
