MFA Press Statement: Appointment Of Singapore's Non-Resident Ambassador To The Republic Of Yemen

The Government has appointed Mr Helmi Bin Ali Bin Talib as Singapore's first Non-Resident Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen. He will be resident in Singapore.

Mr Talib is currently the Managing Partner of the public accounting practice, Helmi Talib & Co. He is the Vice-President of the Arab Association of Singapore and a Member of the Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce. Mr Talib also holds directorships in a number of private companies. Mr Talib was previously appointed as the Republic of Yemen's Honorary Consul to Singapore from 26 February 1994 to 31 May 2008.

Mr Talib is married to Mrs Bibi Nazmah Mahmoodally. They have three children.

BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY

Mr Helmi Bin Ali Bin Talib is currently the Managing Partner of the public accounting practice, Helmi Talib & Co.

Mr Talib was born on 17 December 1960 in Singapore. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from Zagazig University in 1981. He also holds professional qualifications from the Institute of the Certified Public Accountants and the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants.

Mr Talib was appointed as Yemen's Honorary Consul to Singapore from 26 February 1994 to 31 May 2008. He is also Vice-President of the Arab Association of Singapore and a Member of the Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce.

He is also concurrently holding directorships in HT Corporate Services Pte Ltd, Global Travel Pte Ltd, Scenic Travel Pte Ltd and Leisure Holdings Pte Ltd.

Mr Talib is married to Mrs Bibi Nazmah Mahmoodally and they have three children.
