President S R Nathan will make a State Visit to Vietnam from 25 to 29 February 2008 at the invitation of Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet. This will be President Nathan's second State Visit to Vietnam, after the first in February 2001. President Nathan will be visiting Hanoi, Danang, My Son and Hoi An.
In Hanoi, President Nathan will meet senior Vietnamese leaders including President Triet, CPV General-Secretary Nong Duc Manh, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, government ministers, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Pham Quang Nghi and Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen The Thao.
President Nathan will be accompanied by Mrs Nathan, Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports Dr Vivian Balakrishnan and Mrs Balakrishnan, Minister of State for Trade and Industry Lee Yi Shyan, Members of Parliament Dr Lam Pin Min and Mr Wee Siew Kim and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry for Trade and Industry and International Enterprise Singapore. President Nathan will also be accompanied by a business delegation.
