Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith, who is making an Introductory Visit to Singapore from 17-19 February 2008, called on Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo on 18 February 2008. During the meeting, DPM Thongloun and Minister Yeo discussed how both sides could further step up bilateral cooperation, including in the areas of trade, investment and tourism. They also discussed cooperation within ASEAN.
Minister Yeo also hosted DPM Thongloun to dinner the previous evening at a constituency Chinese New Year Dinner, during which he also brought DPM Thongloun on a walk-about around the estate and a visit to an HDB household.
DPM Thongloun will be calling on President S R Nathan and Prime Minister Lee on 19 February 2008.
