MFA Spokesman's Comments on Death of Former Indonesian President Soeharto

"We are saddened by the news of the passing of former Indonesian President Soeharto. Singapore would like to convey our deepest sympathies to the Indonesian people for their profound loss.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will be going to Jakarta this evening to pay his final respects to former President Soeharto. Deputy Prime Minister Professor S Jayakumar will be Singapore's representative at former President Soeharto's funeral in Solo on Monday."
