Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo met Japanese Foreign Minister Nobutaka Machimura at the sidelines of the APEC Ministerial Meeting in Sydney. Minister Yeo congratulated Minister Machimura on his appointment.
The Ministers exchanged views on a wide-range of regional and international issues including APEC's current initiative on climate change. They also discussed regional developments and examined ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and advance regional initiatives such as the Nalanda project as well as the Comprehensive Economic Partnership in East Asia (CEPEA).
