MFA Spokesman’s Comments on UNSG Special Advisor Ibrahim Gambari's Visit to Singapore, 6 to 7 August 2007

In response to press queries on UNSG Special Advisor Ibrahim Gambari's visit to Singapore from 6 to 7 August 2007:

"UNSG Special Advisor on the International Compact with Iraq and Other Issues Ibrahim Gambari visited Singapore from 6-7 August 2007. During the visit, he called on Singapore Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo and had meetings with senior MFA officials. In the discussions on Myanmar, Mr Gambari shared his views on how the UN can engage and encourage Myanmar to make further progress. Singapore is supportive of the UN's constructive efforts on Myanmar."
