The MFA Spokesman made the following statement on the restoration of partnership government in Northern Ireland on Tuesday, 8 May 2007:
"Singapore warmly welcomes the restoration of the Northern Ireland Assembly and Executive as a positive step towards creating an effective partnership government for Northern Ireland. We applaud the commitment shown by all the parties involved and the great efforts made by the British and Irish governments. We hope that this agreement will bring about reconciliation and long-lasting peace in Northern Ireland."
