MFA Press Statement: Visit of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to Langkawi, Malaysia, 14-15 May 2007

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will be visiting Langkawi, Malaysia, from 14-15 May 2007 for a Leaders' Retreat with Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi.

This will be the first Retreat between PM Lee and PM Abdullah. The Retreat will be an opportunity for the two Prime Ministers to discuss possible new areas of cooperation and build on the long-standing close ties between the two countries. It will also be a chance for Ministers from both sides to interact in an informal setting and renew their friendships.

Prime Minister Lee will be accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo, Minister for National Development Mah Bow Tan, Minister for Trade & Industry Lim Hng Kiang, Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean, Minister for Environment and Water Resources Yaacob Ibrahim, Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports and Second Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Raymond Lim, Minister of State for National Development Grace Fu and Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Education Masagos Zulkifli as well as senior officials.
