MFA Spokesman's comments on the state of relations with Malaysia after the visit of the Sultan of Johor, 20 April 2007

In response to a media query about the state of relations with Malaysia after the visit of the Sultan of Johor, the MFA Spokesman said:

"His Majesty Sultan Iskandar of Johor had a good visit to Singapore last week. At the Federal level, relations will be further enhanced when Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong meets Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi for their first ever retreat in Malaysia on 15 May 2007. Prime Minister Lee will be accompanied by several Cabinet Ministers who are also expected to meet their counterparts. The retreat will be an opportunity for the Leaders and Ministers to renew their friendships and explore new areas for cooperation, including in the Iskandar Development Region in Johor."
