MFA Press Statement: Minister For Foreign Affairs George Yeo's Visit To Nagasaki, Japan, 21 March 2007

Foreign Minister George Yeo was hosted to dinner by the Mayor of Omura city, Nagasaki prefecture, Mr Takashi Matsumoto on 21 March 2007. He also met members of the Nagasaki-Singapore Friendship Society. A number of them were medical researchers from Nagasaki University.

They discussed ways to promote bilateral relations, including greater collaboration in the area of infectious diseases. The spread of avian flu in Asia was of particular concern.
